If you put the clamp on the wheel couldn't they just simply take the spare tire that's on back of the car and swap them

What you need is a Brake lock. If the brakes are locked up its not moving anywhere. I have one on my 76 CJ5. Search Brakelock.

I got a set of their hard uppers on my Yj w/tinted windows. Love them! Beats the hell out of the old worn soft uppers.

If i had to get hardtop for my CJ this would be it. Looks to be a really good product, and those doors are pretty slick too.

Sadly I installed it and when I shift to second the engine revs as it’s pulling on the cable. I can’t see a way around this so I’m ripping it all out. I spent hours trying to get it to work and just have to walk away from it.

Another anti-theft option is to install a remote-operated battery disconnect.

Is that the factory color combo and renegade package? I was thinking 79 stripes might be a bit different but can't recall. Looks beautiful for sure!

$300+ is cost prohibitive cosindering its a dit set up.

Keep the 4.2 L inline 6 in it.... don't go V8. More power = more problems. Plus it's nice to see someone with the exact same setup as my 84.

For anyone that's done a lot of V8 swaps, is there a particular V8 that's easier to fit in there (79 CJ7)? I'm thinking about a 350 sbc for mine but also considering an LS 5.3-6.0. Would it be easier to have A/C with an LS engine? Thank you great video!

Thanks again for showing us some great CJs. That golden eagle J10 is nice. I think a lot of newer jeep owners forget that a jeep is a utility vehicle. From military, farms, snow plows, mail delivery, and even running from T-rex😂. So when someone turns them into mall crawlers, it's against the grain of normality. But you have to respect the build right. Everyone likes different things. I do wish we had stuff like this where I live. Seems like they are all far away.

You should go to Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival in PA next year. Lots of old school Jeeps. Probably my favorite show. I agree on this show. Way too much Nick Nacky junk IMO. Love the area though.

I decided to go to Southern CJ at the last minute and we won 1st in CJ7 . We originally had planned to go to Maggie valley but almost 500 miles driving the CJ and trailer was a bit much . We did pull it to Southern CJ and camped that Friday night . My kids had a blast . I may go to the Jeep invasion, haven’t decided yet. Carb vs fuel injection… I’ll keep my WEBER carb . It’s been weberized since 1993 . I keep a rebuild kit and a fuel pump under the rear seat . Factory carbs are garbage and I would fuel inject in a minute if I still had the factory setup. Fuel economy with my Weber and the 258 with an automatic transmission is around 20 mpg on the highway. Pulling the overland trailer about 14-15 . We keep missing you at the events , hopefully we will catch up with you in Aug. or Sept.

If you have a jeep tj I recommend the following. 1) if you drive it in the winter, wash it after every snow to keep salt off the vehicle. 2) drop your skid plate. Remove any surface rust, then liberally apply grease to the mating surfaces, and reapply from time to time. This keeps water and salt from penetrating and rusting out the frame. 3) I pour differential fluid into my frame every spring after a good wash. 4) treat the surface rust on the frame. Buy a grinder, use a wire wheel, and apply a quality paint. I have a 99 TJ with 325k of hard miles. It’s never lived in a garage. I have recently had to replace torque boxes and some of the body steel, but the frame is in good condition.

years ago i bought a 04 TJ right hand drive that i still have, its my daily. I just picked up a 76 DJ5 from a friend local, rebuilt engine, trans, new electrical and fuel and brake lines. i guess my thing are right hand drive jeeps now. i also have a CJ2A with a 327 sbc stuffed into it, i would rather have the 4 cyl back into it though. just sold my CJ7 to get this DJ5, Great work on your page, i will keep up with your stuff.

It would be nice if the buttons were addressable in the app so you weren't locked into button 1 controlling whatever is plugged into output 1 and could just map them to anything you want with the app. Would have been really easy to design that in since it is all micro-controller code and the switchpro does that. But seems like a really good value for what you get compared to the competition.

I like that dark green, I ended up getting an orange Jeep. Love the orange, it's a somewhat rare color too.

I'm with you on the big wheels... 17-inch wheels are the right size for an off-road vehicle.

I prefer the older jeeps but enjoy seeing and learning about the new ones as well . I’ve looked at the gladiator and the new wrangler but settled on a Cummins diesel truck . I can’t have the Dodge, CJ and gladiator. One Jeep is enough for me. The gladiators are really nice but my little CJ and my trailer will get it done and at the day will have just as much fun with my old Jeep .
